Drug Uses
Ranitidine HCL is a medicine used to treat active duodenal ulcer or to maintain a therapy for duodenal ulcer.
How Taken
If you use tablets of 150 mg, you should take two pills a day. If you use tablets of 500 mg, take only one pill a day. Ranitidine HCL should be taken with a glass of water. It is recommended that you take your dose before you go to bed.
Warnings/Precautions
Consult your doctor before taking Ranitidine HCL in case you are breast feeding because this medicine passes into the breast milk. You should talk to your doctor before you stop using the drug.
Missed Dose
In case you miss a dose, take the drug as soon as you remember. If it is already time for your next dose, skip the missed one and take the scheduled one. Do no take a double dose.
Possible Side Effects
Ranitidine HCT may cause the following side effects: constipation, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, abdominal discomfort/pain, headache.
Storage
Ranitidine HCT should be stored at controlled room temperature of 15°-30°C (59°-86°F). Keep it away from children and protect if from light and moisture.
Overdose
In case of an overdose, the unabsorbed medicine should be removed from your gastrointestinal tract. If you suspect an overdose, immediately search for medical help.
More Information
There are no restrictions on food, drinks or performed activities during a treatment with Ranitidine HCT, unless your doctor advised you something else.
