Drug Uses
Penlac is an antifungal medicine used for topical treatment of onychomycosis of fingernails and toenails.
How Taken
Remove any loose nail or nail material before you start using Penlac. Apply the medicine once a day with the applicator brush. Put the lacquer evenly over the nail and let it dry (about 30 seconds) before you put on socks or stockings. You may take a bath after 8 hours.
Warnings/Precautions
Penlac should be used only on the nails and the adjacent skin. Keep the medicine away from the eyes and the mouth.
Missed Dose
Apply the missed dosage of Penlac as soon as you remember.
Possible Side Effects
The most frequent side effects are rash-related. Contact your doctor if you experience increased irritation on the treated areas. The symptoms of the irritation include redness, itching, burning, blistering, swelling, oozing.
Storage
Penlac should be stored at a room temperature between 59° and 86° F (15° and 30° C). Keep away from children.
Overdose
An overdose of Penlac is very unlikely to occur. If you suspect an overdose, immediately search for medical help.
More Information
Do not use nail polish and other nail products on the treated nails. Penlac is flammable and you should avoid using it near heat or open fire.
