Drug Uses
Nizoral is a medicine used to treat systemic fungal infections or other medical conditions. Do not use it to treat fungal meningitis.
How Taken
Nizoral is usually used once a day until the infection disappears. Your dosage may need to be increased if the infection is serious.
Warnings/Precautions
Inform your doctor if you notice signs and symptoms indicating liver dysfunction. These symptoms may include unusual fatigue, anorexia, nausea and/or vomiting, jaundice, dark urine or pale stools. If you experience any of these symptoms an appropriate biochemical testing should be done. Nizoral may change your metabolism.
Missed Dose
In case you miss a dose, take the drug as soon as you remember. If it is already time for your next dose, skip the missed one and take the scheduled one. Do no take a double dose.
Possible Side Effects
Contact your doctor immediately and stop taking Nizoral if you develop any of these side effects: fever and chills; skin rash or itching; dark or amber urine; fever and sore throat; loss of appetite; pale stools; reddening.
Storage
Nizoral should be stored at a controlled room temperature of 15°-25°C (59°-77°F). Keep away from moisture.
Overdose
If you suspect an overdose of Nizoral, immediately search for medical help. An overdose may be signaled by constipation; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; headache; nausea; vomiting.
More Information

Nizoral Tablets contains the active ingredient ketoconazole, which is a type of medicine called an antifungal. It is used to treat infections with fungi and yeasts. Ketoconazole (Nizoral) kills fungi and yeasts by interfering with their cell membranes.
