Drug Uses
Nasacort is FDA approved for relieving nasal allergic symptoms of seasonal and perennial type such as nasal obstruction, tingling runny nose, and sternutation. Nasacort Nasal Spray has no scent, it's thixotropic, liquid metered-dose pump spray blend consisting of microcrystalline mixture of triamcinolone acetonide in an aqueous medium.
How Taken
Nasacort Nasal Spray is inhaled nasally. It is normally used one to four times a day at equal intervals. Before taking the triamcinolone suspension in, carefully blow your nose to clear the nostrils. You can blow your nose 15 minutes after usage of the medication.
Warnings/Precautions
Before application of the medicine, inform your doctor of any viral, bacterial or fungal inflammations as it may reduce the body's strength to combat infections. Nasacort Nasal Spray might not be prescribed to you if you have any kind of the above complaints. Nasacort Nasal Spray falls in category C of the FDA pregnancy meaning the possibility of causing any harm to a fetus isn't studied yet. Always inform your doctor of pregnancy or a possibility of such during your treatment. Nasacort Nasal Spray is not tested for penetration into mother's milk. If you nurse a baby, first consult your doctor before taking Nasacort Nasal Spray. The medicine is not allowed for application to patients younger than 12.
Missed Dose
If you omit a dose of Nasacort, take it immediately, but only if it isn't too near to the next dosage's time. In that case leave it and continue with your normal schedule. Never take a double dose.
Possible Side Effects
Nasacort may lead to irritation, burning, or dry feeling of the nasal canals. Sternutation, nose bleeding, migraine, dizziness, taste loss, throat inflammation or nausea may manifest. If these conditions continue to occur or become troublesome, seek for your doctor's advice. Rarely but report quickly: continuing nose or throat inflammation/soreness, persistent white patches. Very rare but report quickly: warned out or damaged membranes of the nostrils, excessive feebleness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, collapses, dizziness, sight alterations. If you register any other disturbances than the above mentioned, make sure you consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Storage
Preserve the medication at observed room temperature from 20 to 25°C (68 to 77°F) in dark and dry place. Do not freeze. Don't allow children play with the medication.
Overdose
Overdosing of the nasal spray is difficult to occur. However if you suspect anything contact an emergency center or poison control for help.
More Information
If you know of any allergens, stay away from them. Keep clean places where dust or pet fur may influence negatively on your condition. Exposure to familiar sources of inflammation should be avoided. Don't be in a physical contact with people suffering from chicken pox, measles, or any other similar diseases. Your immune system may be weakened and combat infections more difficultly during treatment with Nasacort.
