Drug Uses
Eurax is a medicine that is used for treatment of scabies and itching resulting from some medical conditions.
How Taken
Shake the lotion before usage. Apply a thin layer of the medicine on the skin from the neck to the soles of the feet. The skin should be dry and the cream should be rubbed in it. The medicine should be left to work for 24 hours and then a second layer of it should be applied, without washing the first one. Eurax should be washed 48 hours after the last usage.
Warnings/Precautions
Do not use bigger quantities of Eurax than directed. Do not take the medicine orally. Do not apply to the mouth, nose and eyes. Sexual contacts and other social contacts that are infected should also be treated. It is recommended that you wash all clothes, hats, sheets, hair brushes and combs to prevent reoccurrence of the infection.
Missed Dose
The treatment with Eurax includes two doses 24 hours apart. You may have to start the treatment again if you miss the second dose. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist in case you miss a dose.
Possible Side Effects
Serious side effects are not expected. Stop the usage of Eurax and search for medical help in case you have an allergic reaction (shortness of breath; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, face, or tongue; or hives).
Storage
Eurax should be kept at a room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
Overdose
In case of overdose immediately search for medical help. An overdose of Eurax after intake may be signaled by the following symptoms: irritation or inflammation of the mouth, throat, and stomach lining; nausea; vomiting and abdominal pain.
More Information
Eurax should not be applied to the eyes, nose, and mouth. In case this happens, wash the cream immediately with a lot of water.
