Drug Uses
Condylox is the first medication approved by FDA for treatment of genital warts. Its ingredients start treating the genital warts as soon as the medicine is applied. Condylox is used for topical treatment of anogenital warts � external genital warts and perianal warts.
How Taken
Condylox should be applied two times a day for a period of 3 days. Then the treatment is discontinued for the next 4 days. You should not use more than 0,5 ml of the solution per day. The treatment should be repeated maximum for 4 weeks. Follow the instructions of your doctor.
Warnings/Precautions
Inform your doctor before using Condylox if you have allergies to some medicines, if you suffer from other medical conditions or in you use other medicines. Your dose may have to be adjusted, or you may have to be monitored regularly during the treatment. Condylox falls into the FDA pregnancy category C which means it is not clear if the drug may harm a fetus. Also, it is not known if Condylox passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before using Condylox in case you are breast feeding. It is recommended that you use an effective birth control method during the treatment with Condylox.
Missed Dose
In case you miss a dose, take the drug as soon as you remember. If it is already time for your next dose, skip the missed one and take the scheduled one. Do no take a double dose.
Possible Side Effects
Contact your doctor immediately and stop taking Condylox if you develop any of these side effects: an allergic reaction (shortness of breath; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, face, or tongue; or hives); or excessive burning, stinging, or pain or bleeding or swelling of treated skin. If you have any of the following less serious side effects, continue using Condylox but inform your doctor: mild to moderate itching, burning, pain, or inflammation at the treated site; unpleasant odor; or pain during intercourse. Other different side effects that are not listed here may also occur. If you notice some unusual effects or conditions, inform your doctor about them.
Storage
Condylox should be stored at a room temperature, away from moisture. Keep the medicine away from children. Throw it away after its expiration date.
Overdose
If you suspect an overdose of Condylox, immediately search for medical help. An overdose may be signaled by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, numbness and tingling, confusion, unconsciousness, seizures, and others.
More Information
Inform your doctor or pharmacist in case you experience difficulty breathing, closing of your throat, swelling of your lips, swelling of your tongue, swelling of your face, rash, an irregular heartbeat, or seizures. Use Condylox externally. Do not give the medicine to other people.
