Drug Uses

Celexa ebbs in a group of medicines named Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors. Celexa influences the brain chemicals that may be distorted and may lead to depressive conditions. Celexa is used to treat depression.

How Taken

Celexa is offered in a tablet form. It is usually taken one time a day and may be absorbed with or with no food. Keep to the instructions on your prescription label cautiously and seek your doctor or pharmacist's advice if you don't perceive anything. Take Celexa strictly according to directions. Do not exceed or lower its dosage than is given in your prescription. Keep on taking Celexa even if your common condition is good. Do not cease Celexa intake without prior consultation with your doctor. This medicine should be taken on a regular basis for 2-3 weeks before it takes full effect.

Warnings/Precautions

Preceding Celexa intake, consult your doctor if you have a history of liver, kidney, seizures, mania complaints or have come to suicidal ideas. Celexa might be not appropriate for you or your treatment may be adjusted or specially observed in the above mentioned cases. Do not accept Celexa without your doctor's consent if you have experienced any allergic effects to the medicine before. Celexa is in category C of the FDA pregnancy meaning it's unknown if Celexa can cause any harm to a fetus. In cases of pregnancy or pregnancy possibility always inform your doctor before starting treatment. Celexa moves into mother's milk and may have a negative impact on a breast-fed child. In case you nurse a baby, make sure your doctor is informed before Celexa intake.

Missed Dose

Have it as soon as you recall of it. Nevertheless if your next dose time is near, miss it and resume your regular intake scheme. The absorption of two doses instead of one is highly inadvisable.

Possible Side Effects

The most common Celexa intake side effect is of sexual character and occurs with male patients. Some other uneasiness problems may be experienced as well:
-nausea
-dry mouth
-drowsiness
- excessive perspiration

Storage

Celexa tablets should be kept away from wet places at room temperature 15- 30�C

Overdose

Celexa overdose symptoms with or without other drugs and/or alcohol intake may occur. These are daze, perspiration, nausea, throwing up, trembling, doziness and sinus tachycardia. Unlikely but still possible are amnesia, embarrassment, coma, spasms, hyperventilation, cyanosis, rhabdomyolysis and ECG changes.

More Information

Watch out when driving, handling machinery, or executing other risky activities. Celexa may lead to daze. If so, put an end to this occupation temporarily. Avoid alcohol as it may amplify sleepiness and daze during Celexa intake or influence your state.
