Drug Uses
Aphthasol is a paste used for treatment of aphthous ulcers (canker sores).
How Taken
The paste is applied to the canker sore. You should wash your hands after you apply Aphthasol. Continue using it until the sore heals. Consult your doctor if the sore does not heal after 10 days of treatment. Keep Aphthasol away from your eyes.
Warnings/Precautions
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to amlexanox. Also tell your health care professional if you are allergic to any other substances, such as preservatives or dyes. Amlexanox has not been studied in humans. However, studies in animals have not found that it causes any birth defects or other problems.
Missed Dose
In case you miss a dose, take the drug as soon as you remember. If it is already time for your next dose, skip the missed one and take the scheduled one.
Possible Side Effects
The usage of Aphthasol may cause tge following less serious side effects: burning, stinging, or pain on the part that medicine is applied; inflammation of mucous membranes; diarrhea; nausea. They should disappear without any special treatment but if they worsen or if they bother you, consult your doctor.
Storage
Aphthasol should be kept away from direct light, heat and moisture because they may affect the medicine. Keep away from children. Throw it away after the expiration date.
Overdose
If you suspect an overdose, immediately search for medical help.
