Drug Uses
Albenza is a medicine that treats parenchymal neurocysticercosis due to active lesions caused by larval forms of the pork tapeworm. Albenza is also used to treat cystic hydatid disease of the liver, lung, and peritoneum, caused by the larval form of the dog tapeworm.

Start using Albenza only if you are not pregnant because this medicine may affect and harm a fetus. It may harm the liver or the bone marrow, so during the treatment regular control of blood counts and liver function tests should be made. Consult your doctor about the possible effect of the drug on the fetus in you plan a pregnancy during the treatment with Albenza or a month after it is completed.
Missed Dose
In case you miss a dose, take the drug as soon as you remember. If it is already time for your next dose, skip the missed one and take the scheduled one. Do no take a double dose of Albenza.
Possible Side Effects
The side effects are not serious and usually disappear without special treatment.
Storage
Albenza should be kept at a temperature between 20° and 25°C (68° and 77°F).
Overdose
If you take an overdose of Albenza, supportive measures are recommended. You should search for medical care and help.
